Vintage Berber azilal carpet new cotton wool

Azilal carpets come from the Azilal region, located in the remote and very difficult to access mountains of the High Atlas, about 200 km from Marrakech in Morocco. Originally made for family use in order to face the cold of the High Atlas, they are hand-made by the women of the region and are characterized by their ivory-cream background made of natural virgin wool, and their very colourful patterns made with vegetable dyes or with coloured cotton threads. 145×245 cm Each carpet tells its own story through the woven lines, patterns and symbols.
