Vintage Murano crystal vase by Paolo Venini 1987

Exceptional Murano crystal vase signed Venini, 1987 edition. Decoration according to the "Filigrana" technique of superimposed spirals in blue and green. Perfect condition. Height 29cm. Signed Venini 87. By the way... Paolo Venini (1895-1959) founded with two partners Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Venini et Cie in 1925. After the departure of his two associates, he secured the collaboration of Carlo Scarpa, artistic director, from 1932 onwards. He influenced Venini's creation until the 1960s. Venini called on a number of designers including Fulvio Bianconi, Gio Ponti, Tyra Lundgren and Tommasso Buzzi. After the Second World War, production was at the forefront in the treatment of shapes and colours. The firm engaged the services of the Finnish designer, Tapio Virkkala, from 1966. Today the factory has been absorbed by the Ferruzzi group, which continues the tradition.
