About this vintage design furniture
A superb and hard to find teak rocking chair designed by Ole Wanscher for France & Son, Denmark. An absolute triumph of design, the finesse of the frame is remarkable and there is not a line out of place, this has always been one of our favourite chairs to have in stock. The chair is characterized by its original spring cushions that have been beautifully upholstered with Kvadrat Divina fabric. This blue Marl fabric is very close to the original colours offered in the 50s and contrasts beautifully with the wood. It is important to note that the fineness of the cushions has been preserved and that they are offered as they would have been when they left the factory. We hate to see these chairs with large, overly padded cushions. An example of this design is kept in the permanent collection of the Museum Of Modern Art in New York.
