Vintage 2 seater leather sofa by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina 1987

A timeless design by the famous Italian designer Gianfranco Frattini (1926-2004) for Cassina; the Bull sofa. Produced only in 1987 by Cassina, this design is becoming increasingly rare. What is remarkable about this design is that the armrest, backrest and headrest are perfectly integrated and form an envelope around the seating area. This guarantees maximum seating comfort. Especially because the entire sofa is very well upholstered thanks to the use of thick, high-quality leather. The basic frame of the sofa is made of metal, which is then upholstered with foam. In addition, each leather segment is zipped onto the sofa frame. Each segment has its own zip and can therefore be removed independently for cleaning and/or upholstery. The lacquered metal legs are screwed onto the metal base frame and even the underside of the sofa is made of a high-quality rubber base plate. The feet themselves give the sofa a levitating effect, thus visually reducing the massiveness of the upper part. The whole design is built on a very clever logic and is extremely well constructed, which is why it is regrettable that Cassina decided to produce this design for only one year. This special sofa is characterised by petrol grey natural leather and black lacquered feet. The sofa is in excellent general condition, with only minor visible wear and tear on the legs.
