About this vintage design furniture
The Dutch sculptor, designer and artist Anthony Paul Kingma (1931-2013) created impressive coffee tables. Like his German peers, such as Lilienthal and Rohne, and his French counterpart Roger Capron, many of these tables were hand-made by Kingma. Kingma's choice of materials was mainly stone and concrete with brass ornaments. Kingma begins with a stone leg and a concrete table frame. This frame is then decorated with brass details, coins and stones of different colours. The table is fully signed, certifying their authenticity. Although Kingma has produced for Fedam (Netherlands) and Kneip (Germany), most of its tables have been produced under its own brand name. In this particular case, these are two coffee tables of the same style with a coloured stone base, a concrete top and a mosaic structure. The small table measures 70x70x45 cm and the large table measures 125x75x48 cm. The tables are in very good general condition, with minor wear of the leg. The mosaic structures are in like new condition.
