Alain Richard probably invented the first French spot at the very end of the 1950s. He mounted it on rods that were used for all the lights in the house: wall lamps, ceiling lights, lamps, floor lamps, etc. A few years later he designed the semi spherical orientable reflector that he installed on the same system. Thanks to this half-sphere that can be oriented in the three positions of the space, it can produce direct, indirect and reflected light over the whole range. A high quality finish, a wide range of colours and the sober modernity of these luminaires will make them a great success for Disderot and Richard.
