Knud KYHN

Knud Kyhn studied at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts, where he specialized in ceramics. After graduating, he worked for the Royal Copenhagen porcelain factory, one of Denmark's oldest and most prestigious. He remained there for almost 50 years, from 1903 until his retirement in 1957.

During his time at Royal Copenhagen, Knud Kyhn created many highly successful ceramic and porcelain pieces. He was particularly renowned for his animal sculptures, including expressive depictions of lions, tigers, bears and dogs. His creations are characterized by their striking realism and attention to detail, capturing the animals' movements and expressions with precision.

Knud Kyhn was also a versatile artist. In addition to ceramics, he explored other art forms, such as painting and woodcarving. His work was exhibited in numerous museums and galleries in Denmark and abroad, and he received several awards for his work, including the Eckersberg Medal in 1929.

Today, Knud Kyhn's ceramics and sculptures are highly prized by collectors and art lovers. His artistic legacy lives on through his influence on Danish design and contemporary ceramics.
