Adolf RELLING

In the 1950s, Relling founded his own furniture design company, called Relling & Westfal-Larsen, in collaboration with designer Rolf Rastad. Their collaboration produced many iconic pieces of Norwegian design, including the "The Siesta" armchair in 1965, which became one of his most famous creations. The chair was characterized by its elegant form and use of high-quality wood.

Relling's designs were characterized by simplicity, functionality and timeless aesthetics. He favored the use of natural materials, such as wood and leather, and emphasized comfort and ergonomics. His furniture was often characterized by clean lines, organic forms and attention to detail.

Adolf Relling was widely recognized for his work, winning numerous awards and distinctions throughout his career. His creations helped put Scandinavian design on the international map and had a lasting influence on modern furniture design.

Adolf Relling passed away on September 28, 2006, but his legacy as a talented and innovative designer continues to inspire designers and design enthusiasts around the world.
