About this vintage design furniture

Artifort easy chair designed by Theo Ruth in 1955. This easy chair is very similar to Theo Ruth’s Penguin and Congo chair. The similarities can be clearly seen in the legs. In this chair you can see the playful and organic style that was very popular at the time. It has been re-upholstered with Kvadrat Tundra lime and Kvadrat Hallingdal 180 black. Material: beech wood and Kvadrat fabric. Dimensions: h x w x d 69 x 68 x 74 cm. The seat height is 37 cm. Theo Ruth was a furniture designer and interior designer, he started working for Artifort in 1936 as a furniture maker. From 1939 to 1971, Theo Ruth was head of the design and development department at Artifort.
