About this vintage design furniture
Arne Jacobsen is a guest designer with Louis Poulsen & Co and although he is not the legacy designer for Louis Poulsen like Poul Henningsen his designs are still very much key for the late 60s and 70s at Louis Poulsen & Co. In 1958 he designs this new lamp design for the at the time new Scandinavian Airlines Hotel (SAS-Hotel). This lamp was called the AJ Royal pendant lamp, also referred to as the AJ Pendlen. Originally only available in light grey, dark brown and black, later Editions included multiple colors and also white. De AJ Royal is a wide half globe pendant lamp with a semi detached inner shell. The inner shell separates 4 light bulbs from the central light bulb. The net result is a diffuse light up and a more concentrated light down. This white edition with all Attribution markings is a 70s production and still in very good vintage condition.
