Vintage armchair 366, yellow 1960

The armchair designed by Józef Chierowski is the most famous and recognizable piece of Polish design of the 1960s. It was created exactly in 1962 in the Lower Silesian furniture factories at Świebodzice and has made a worldwide career. It is a very simple piece of construction furniture. It is resolutely modern. This is how it was perceived more than 60 years ago. Its style is clearly different from the other massive armchairs of the early 1960s. The Chair has undergone a complete renovation. The wooden structure has been divided into two parts to eliminate the gaps created at the joints by the passage of time and to eliminate mobility due to the crumbling of the glue. The next step was to remove the old layers of paint and varnish. Finally, the frame was glued back together and painted with teak satin paint. The seat was also removed from the old layers of material, moss and belts. Reinforcement was added using semi-hard foam, strips and sheep. At the very end, the seat was upholstered with a beautiful, damage-resistant and water-repellent fabric.
