About this vintage design furniture
Set of 4 Black Leather Chaplin Chairs designed by Gerard van den Berg in 1983 for Montis. The upholstery covers the frame like an article of clothing. The cover hangs nonchalantly on the chair like a padded ‘jacket’ and is secured all around with four zips. The chairs are ideally suited for a comfortable eating or discussion area. The version on castors is ideal for use in a work area. The condition is very good with minimal use marks. Seat height: 47 cm

About the designer
Gerard VAN DER BERG
Gerrit (Gerard) Van Der Berg (1947-2011) was a Dutch designer known for his modern, functional furniture creations. He studied at the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts and began his career as an industrial designer at Gispen, a Dutch furniture company.
