About this vintage design furniture
Petit 1930s Dutch Functionalist cabinet by Hendrik Wouda. Wouda’s modest style is part of ’the Hague School’, which is the Dutch synonym of the Modern American Art Deco architecture of icons such as Frank Lloyd Wright. The listed storage unit has an asymmetrical, yet architectonically shaped Silhouette, a robust look and feel and a solid oak construction. The wooden panels of the door, sides and top are darkened a fraction, which gives the unit a constructivist design. The handles on the door and drawer are made of solid oak and handmade. This vintage case piece features an open storage compartment with on the left a small drawer. The belly of the unit consists of a closed two level storage space.
