About this vintage design furniture
Coffee table in walnut wood designed by Gio Ponti for Domus Nova, Italy in 1950. This beautifully shaped coffee table is manufactured for the Milan concept store ‘La Rinascente’. This two-level table is made of walnut wood and has a glass top. There is a very nice pattern in the veneer (see photos). This coffee table is still in good original condition with normal traces of wear and use. The wood is slightly bent at the corner on one side (see photo). The table still has the original glass plate of tempered glass, there are no chips from the glass (some scratches in the glass). A comparable table was sold at Christies London in 2012 for $ 7,000 (with auction fees). Dimensions: h x w x d 46 x 96 x 45 cm. Source: Gio Ponti.
