Vintage circular dining set and matching chairs by Merrow Associates, 1960

A classic and iconic British mid-century modernist dining set, featuring a 6-seat circular dining table and 6 chairs in cream leather and chrome cantilever from the late 1960s.Merrow Associates produced many exceptional British mid-century pieces throughout the 1960s and 1970s and were notable for producing a more modernist design style during this period. Their furniture line included dining and coffee tables as well as wall units, shelving, and serving carts.This table is perhaps their most iconic and sought-after table, with a beautifully figured and matching quarter-laminated wood "Lazy Susan" turntable centerpiece supported by thick chrome legs. The tabletop, at 138 cm, comfortably seats 6 people, as shown in the photos, but only 4 chairs slide under the table when not in use. The table is perfectly matched with Richard Young's chrome cantilever legs, covered in cream leather. Together they make an elegant and sophisticated set that would work well with many styles of decor.The table and chairs are presented in excellent original condition with only a few minor marks on the top, frame and chrome based on age and use.
