Folke JANSSON

After completing his secondary education, Jansson decided to pursue his training in design. He entered the Konstfack School of Design in Stockholm, where he studied from 1942 to 1946. It was during this period that he was influenced by the modernist and functionalist movements that shaped Scandinavian design at the time.

After graduating, Jansson began his career working for a well-known design firm in Stockholm. His outstanding work soon won him international recognition, and he was invited to participate in exhibitions and conferences across Europe.

Over the years, Folke Jansson created a distinctive style characterized by clean lines, organic forms and the use of natural materials such as wood and leather. He was known for his functionalist approach, emphasizing the utility and ergonomics of his designs.

Jansson worked on a variety of projects, including furniture, lighting, household objects and office equipment. Some of his most famous creations include chairs, tables and lamps that have become icons of Scandinavian design.

Throughout his career, Folke Jansson has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the prestigious Swedish Design Award on several occasions. His creations are exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.

Folke Jansson continued to work until his retirement, remaining active in the field of design until the end of his life. He died on July 27, 2011 at the age of 89, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of Scandinavian design. His creations continue to influence many designers and design enthusiasts to this day.
