Vintage mosaic and brass coffee table by Berthold Müller, 1950

Beautiful round coffee table with mosaic top. It is the work of the German sculptor Berthold Müller; it is one of the most beautiful examples. With its brass structure, it almost looks like an Italian model. The mosaic pattern on the top is a fascinating piece of work and will be an inspirational object in any modern home. An upscale and unique piece of furniture of mid-century European design. The coffee table is in good condition and the brass has a patina. Berthold Müller (10 February 1893 Oerlinghausen - 22 June 1979 Kressbronn) was a famous German sculptor. In the 1920s he devoted himself to religious art: commissions for sculptures on church buildings. Later in his career, he opened his own mosaic studio, which was unfortunately destroyed during the Second World War. After the war, Müller made an important contribution to the revival of cultural life in the region where he lived and worked. He reopened his mosaic studio and participated in numerous exhibitions with his works. The most famous are his beautiful mosaic coffee tables. All handmade.
