Vintage loungechair by Otto Zapf Sofalette moduls 2 seater
About this vintage design furniture
This as 2 seater created modul set from the Sofalette series of Otto Zapf was designed by him in the 70s. The black leather of the lounge chair moduls shows a fantastic Patina in some areas and comes in a good condition. As base the chairs have fiberglas shells which are in an age-appropriate condition. No cracks, just some chips which are nearly not visible. The moduls were desigend as a 2 seater but can also be used as single lounge chairs. Otto Zapf founded together with Niels Vitsoe in 1958 the company Vitsoe+Zapf and ccoperated also with Dieter Rams. In 1969 Otto Zapf left the company and designed in 1970 the Softline system whcih was a huge success. After that Zapf worked for Knoll Int. and his designs were manufactured from Knoll, B&B Italia etc.

Otto ZAPF
Otto Zapf was a German designer who was born on July 16, 1929 in Nuremberg and died on May 8, 2011 in Cologne. He studied typography and graphic design at the Nuremberg School of Design and the Munich Academy of Fine Arts.
