About this vintage design furniture
The Peacock chair was designed in 1947 by the famous Danish designer Hans J Wegner, who was inspired by the beautiful Windsor chairs. The name Peacock was given by a fellow architect and designer, Finn Juhl, who first noticed the feathery appearance of the back. The sturdy chair is made entirely of solid wood, with a paper cord seat. The wooden slats have been designed to keep the back perfectly straight, with the flat parts being placed where the shoulder parts meet the chair. The large backrest and armrests add extra comfort. Although the chair was first produced in 1947, its modern lines and extravagant backrest look just as attractive today. A true work of art. High seating height. 37cm.
