About this vintage design furniture
This is a set of 4 early, original production metal side chairs and seat pads designed by Harry Bertoia for Knoll in the 50’s and produced in 1962-63. As early models, made prior to production being moved to Italy, they are formed from a thinner gauge wire to the later chairs, conforming to Bertoia’s idea of transparency and air, unlike later models. Dimensions (cm, approx): H: 76 W: 54 D: 51 Condition: Structurally solid and in fair condition for year with several discrete repairs and various surface corrosion most of which can be cleaned off but with some areas of chrome loss. Various wear to the original vinyl seat pads. Please enquire for further authentication information (confirmation by Celia Bertoia, daughter of Harry).
