Carlo Gabetti was born in Turin, Italy, in 1933. He studied architecture at Turin Polytechnic, where he met Pierluigi Cerri, with whom he formed a professional partnership. Gabetti was known for his avant-garde and experimental approach to design, and was influenced by movements such as rationalism and futurism. He was one of the founders of Studio Gabetti-Isola in Turin, a design studio that produced many renowned projects.

Alessandro Isola was born in Turin, Italy, in 1929. Like Gabetti, he studied architecture at Turin Polytechnic. Isola also joined the Gabetti-Isola Studio, and his collaboration with Gabetti was fruitful and prolific. He was known for his experimental approach to design and his interest in the use of innovative materials. Isola was also a professor of architecture at Turin Polytechnic and was instrumental in training talented young designers.

Umberto Drocco, born in Turin in 1925, was the third key member of the Gabetti-Isola Studio. He also studied architecture at Turin Polytechnic and joined Gabetti and Isola in their collaboration. Drocco brought a distinct artistic sensibility to the trio, with a particular attention to aesthetics and detail. He was known for his work in furniture and objets d'art design, and his style was often inspired by abstract art.

Together, Gabetti, Isola and Drocco completed many notable projects, including public buildings, hotels, residential complexes, exhibition spaces and design objects. Their work was characterized by clean lines, bold geometric forms and the use of modern materials such as glass, metal and plastic. They helped shape Italian design at the time and left a lasting legacy in the field of design and architecture.
