About this vintage design furniture
The MR 534 MR 20 tubular nickel armchair combines timeless elegance with seating comfort. The limited use of materials, elegant lines and transparency are the most striking features of the MR534 MR20. The chair owes its special comfort to the constant elastic suspension. This effect is due to the fact that Mies van der Rohe designed the front part of the tubular steel frame as a large arc of spring steel tubes. While most designs of the 1930s were fairly simple and functional, this chair clearly bears the signature of the architect. The MR 534 MR20 chair was first presented in the Weissenhof-Siedlung in 1927. Nickel frame This particular piece has a 1930's design and is in very good condition. The chair has new black canvas upholstery for the seat and backrest. Very rare
