About this vintage design furniture
This Henry Moore-style organic abstract perhaps depicts Lovers, a husband and wife with a young child between them. The large hand-carved wooden sculpture was made by artist Laszlo Feldman, in the 1970s. It is a heavy, massive piece with a beautiful finish and beautiful details such as the carving of the faces - signed on the back "Feldman".Feldman (1907-1994) was originally an acrobat, under the pseudonym Athos - world known for his extreme strength. Later, under the guidance of Istvan Huber-Desi, Hungarian artist, he studied painting and sculpture.
