Swedish lighting master Hans-Agne Jakobsson created a series of metal pendants called "Selectra" in the late 1960s. They come in different shapes, sizes and colours and are made of metal squares of different sizes aligned to let the light flow up and down creating very decorative shadows. Some are in clusters of 6 or 8 small lamps, but they are two simple pendants each consisting of two white squares and one red square. The light is also known as T174. This is undoubtedly one of Hans-Agne Jakobssons' rarest and most minimalist creations. Good condition with very few scratches on examination. Standard E27 bulb. Sold only in pairs. Hans-Agne Jakobsson was undeniably one of the world's most versatile and productive lighting designers and manufacturers in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. He was also one of the best and most important designers of the Scandinavian era of golden, soft, non-glare light. His early designs follow in the footsteps of Scandinavian giants such as Poul Henningsen, Paavo Tynell and Alvar Aalto and he must be considered as important as the world-famous Nordic lighting designers Greta Magnusson-Grossman, Lisa Johansson-Pape, Verner Panton and Jo Hammerborg.
