Bernadotte

Sivgard BERNADOTTE

Bernadotte studied architecture at the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm and began his career working for design companies such as Georg Jensen and the engineering firm AB Aeroteknik. He also worked for German companies including Siemens and Krupp.

During his career, Bernadotte designed a wide range of products, from cutlery to radios and aircraft. He also worked on architectural and interior design projects, including the SS Kungsholm liner and the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel.

Bernadotte was known for his functionalist approach to design and his use of modern materials such as plastic and aluminum. He won numerous awards for his work, including the Lunning Prize in 1954 and the Good Design Prize in 1955.

In addition to his design career, Bernadotte was also an active member of the Swedish royal family, and was appointed a prince in 1951. He died in 2002 at the age of 95.
