About this vintage design furniture
LAR armchair made of fiberglass designed by Charles & Ray Eames in the 1950’s and made at Vitra in the 1970’s. Vitra was licensed with Herman Miller in 1957 and then started producing the Charles & Ray Eames designs. LAR stands for Lounge Height Armchair Rod Base or LAR Low Armchair Rod Base. The frame is also called “cat’s cradle base”. The seat is made of white fiberglass and has a beautiful visible structure. This armchair is still in very good condition with normal signs of use and wear (see photos). Dimensions: h x w x d 65.5 x 65 x 62.5 cm, seat height 31 cm. Marked: Vitra (see photos).
