About this vintage design furniture
About the item Quite a rare find indeed. Herman Miller produced a segmented dining table that looks like an Eames table however it is not. It’s a George Nelson design. The Nelson series table can be distinguished by the bigger (thicker) tube of the base and the different metal feet that can be adjusted in height. This design is different from the other George Nelson dining tables with a more rounded frame however the design is from the same designer. So it looks like an Eames but looks are deceiving. These tables were produced primarily for the American market however they have been imported in the 70s and 80s into Europe as well. The table supports a thick plastic top of 120 cm diameter and 3 cm thickness. The metal (steel) base is in matt black with chromed feet and metal adjustable feet. It features an original sticker on the frame, proving its authenticity. About its condition The table top is remarkable good condition with hardly any damage. The base has some scratches that are hardly visible. The chrome feet has some oxidation due to age.
