About this vintage design furniture
A prime example of the Avant-garde Modernist aesthetic of the 1930’s. This B 4 flower stand was produced by the Slezak Company in former Czechoslovakia. It consists of three wooden platforms that are made to look like they are floating by the elegant chrome structure that effortlessly connects them. The form and design concept of this piece is inspired by the tubular furniture developed by Marcel Breuer during the 1920’s. The idea behind Breuer’s tubular design was to make furniture that would match the emerging Modernist architecture and its new proposed way of living. Functional with minimal detailing, making the furniture pieces light and almost “invisible”. The piece is in great vintage condition with some minor wear and tear on the chrome steel. The wooden parts has been refurbished and repainted.
