About this vintage design furniture

Belgian sculptor Georges Pelletier studied at the École Nationale des Arts et Métiers in Paris, where he specialized in ceramics. During his studies, he worked in the studio of ceramist Claude Pantzer, in the pottery workshop of Accolay and in the workshop of La Roue De Vallauris. In 1961, he opened his own workshop in Paris, where he created his first unique piece. Until 1973, Pelletier produced many lights for the Bobois house. Then he decided to set up his workshop in Cannes, where he is still active and working today. Internationally renowned artist, his work is presented in many galleries and exhibitions. This table lamp dates from the 1960s and shows a refined craftsmanship. The hand-painted, incised brown ceramic base has an added sense of dimension with the ceramic pears floating in the base. The lampshade is made of a woolen fabric. The lamp is in good original condition.
