About this vintage design furniture
Beautiful desk by Jorge Zalszupin, manufactured by L’Atelier San Paulo, circa 1960. Made of high quality jacaranda wood. The desk has four drawers with very well crafted grips made of wood and leather. In good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Jorge Zalszupin is a PolishBrazilian architect and designer noted for modern design. In the 1950s Zalszupin founded L’Atelier, a furniture design manufacturer in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Zalszupin’s one-off designs were included by Oscar Niemeyer in the Palácio da Alvorada and the Palácio do Planalto.

About the designer
Jorge Zalszupin
Jorge Zalszupin was a Brazilian designer of Polish origin, born in Warsaw in 1922 and died in São Paulo in 2020. After fleeing Poland with his family during the Second World War, he lived in Romania, France and Argentina before settling permanently in Brazil in 1949.
