About this vintage design furniture
Doo-Wop is a reproduction of the Søværnspendel lamp from the 1950s. The Doo-Wop lamp was introduced in 1950 and designed in close cooperation between the Department of Naval Buildings and Louis Poulsen. The lamp has been used for many years in Navy buildings for many different applications such as catering and offices. Navy Pendant, which was then the name, was widely used because of its unique lighting properties and usability. It was not until the early 1980s that the product was removed from the catalogs of Louis Poulsen. In recent years, more and more old editions have been sold again through antique stores and auctions. This resulted in demand and Louis Poulsen was asked to re-introduce the products. The new version is very similar to the original. However, the colors have been updated to match the colors of time, while the production methods are the same. Doo-Wop lampshades are still hand-made to this day. The lamp is in very good condition, almost perfect.
