About this vintage design furniture

Rare and beautiful mid-century modern ceiling light "Membrane" by Toni Zuccheri for Venini, Murano, Italy. In the 1970s, Zuccheri designed Membrane, a series in which a glass skin on the interior of the vessel retains color while the outer walls remain clear.Measurements:The hand-blown Murano spheres have a diameter of 25 cm.The lamp has a diameter of 57 cm and the total height is 112 cm.The lamp is in very good condition. Son of Luigi Zuccheri, animal painter, he inherited his father's passion for animals, which are the recurring subjects of his glass creations. He attended the Faculty of Architecture in Venice under the direction of Gardella, Albini, Scarpa and Samonà.From the 1960s he began to collaborate with Venini: his first glassworks are, according to family tradition, animals in polychrome glass with precious techniques, such as "murrine". In 1965 he began to collaborate with Gio Ponti, and together they designed a new glass system, the "Vetrate grosse".He then expanded his glass production with new colors and subjects.
