About this vintage design furniture
This set of two "La Fonda" chairs was designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller during the 1960s. Designers set to work on this in response to a request from their friend Alexander Girard, who needed seating for his new restaurant, La Fonda Del Sol, in New York City. In catalogue, this model was classifiabled within 1730 number. It’s made from fibreglass and has a solid cast aluminum bases. Furthermore, Charles and Ray devised a new upholstery system for these chairs, with the exclusive Eames edge, made of solid rubber. All is in rare variant in elegant black colour. Original vintage condition with natural traces of age. Minor scrapes and scratches.
