About this vintage design furniture
PH 80 belongs to the 3-screen lamp family, which currently has as many as 20 lamps. Poul Henningsen (PH) designed the 3-screen system as early as the 1920s, when in collaboration with Louis Poulsen he designed the first lamps for the exhibition in Paris. Throughout his life, PH tried to create non-blinding light, directing the light only where it was needed. In this way, PH designed the entire lamp system, and over a thousand different models were produced over the years. The numbers of PH lamps usually refer to the size of the screen, but this does not apply to PH 80. The lamp was made after the death of PH on the 80th birthday in 1974, hence the name PH 80. The PH 80 lamp emits a nice diffused light. Most of the light is controlled down using acrylic screens, which also helps to transmit light horizontally and upwards. The red color of the upper reflector is designed to give a warm light. The PH80 desk lamp is no longer in production and is unique on the aftermarket. The lamp is in very good condition, few signs of use, has a slight defect on the upper lens visible in the last photo.
