About this vintage design furniture
The "Standard" dining chair was designed by Jean Prouvé in 1934. It is issued by VITRA. Created in Nancy by Jean Prouvé in his workshop, the French engineer-designer brought to his customers the Standard chair. The appearance of this chair reflects the typical characteristics of the work of Prouvé with its hollow body base and the lightness of its steel tube.

About the designer
Jean PROUVE
1901 - 1984Jean Prouvé (1901-1984) was a French designer and builder. Born in Nancy, he began working in his father's iron workshop before studying art and design at the École de Nancy. In the 1920s, he began designing metal furniture and founded his own company, Ateliers Jean Prouvé, in 1923.
