About this vintage design furniture

Magnificent mid-century pitcher, made by the famous French ceramist Jacques Blin (1920-1995), around the 1950s and purchased from a private collection. This rare piece reflects Blin's unique and inimitable style of engraving or sculpting exotic birds, primitive animals and abstract objects, forms and scenes of daily life, in raw clay, before applying its characteristic misty and cloudy glaze. It has beautiful, rich blue hues mixed with charcoal and carved images of birds and exotic trees just above the base. The launcher, which can also be used as a vase, is signed "J Blin" under the base. A timeless, collector's item, handmade, in excellent original condition, from one of the most emblematic French ceramists of the 20th century, which will match any mid-century decor, whether rustic, contemporary or traditional.
