Erich STRATMANN

Stratmann was known for his innovative work in furniture design, particularly for his creative use of wood. He created furniture with organic, flowing forms, and often incorporated sculptural elements into his designs.

During the Second World War, Stratmann was conscripted into the German army, but after the war he returned to Oldenburger Möbelwerkstätten to continue his design work.

During his career, Stratmann won several awards for his designs, including the German Design Prize in 1955 and the International Design Prize in 1958.

Stratmann's furniture designs are still highly sought-after by modernist furniture collectors, and his work has had a lasting influence on twentieth-century furniture design.
