About this vintage design furniture
Stoneware vase designed by Gunnar Nylund, hand thrown at Rörstrand, Sweden during the 1940s. Light black glaze with slight touch of green. Signed. Very good condition, one small pore from production.

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
