Don CHADWICK

Chadwick received his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the University of Southern California in 1959. Shortly afterwards, he began working for an office furniture manufacturer in Los Angeles, where he gained solid experience in the field.

In 1964, Don Chadwick had the opportunity to join Herman Miller, where he began working with the famous designer Ray Eames. Their collaboration resulted in the creation of one of the design icons of the 20th century, the Eames lounge chair, which is still highly prized today.

In 1974, Chadwick designed his own revolutionary chair, the Aeron chair, in collaboration with Bill Stumpf. The Aeron chair became a huge success and redefined the standards of ergonomic office furniture. It became iconic for its innovative design, comfort and durable materials.

Throughout his career, Don Chadwick continued to design innovative office furniture for Herman Miller, focusing on ergonomics, durability and functionality. He has also worked on other projects, such as lighting, tables and office accessories.

Don Chadwick has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the prestigious Industrial Design Award from the American Institute of Architects. His creations are exhibited in renowned museums around the world, and his legacy in the field of office furniture design remains undeniable.

With his prolific career and lasting impact on industrial design, Don Chadwick is considered one of the great designers of the 20th century, having marked the history of office furniture with innovative and functional creations.
