Organic stoneware bowl designed by Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand, Sweden. Handthrown in the 1950s. Blue glaze with streaks of aubergine to brown. Signed with initials of ceramist. 1st quality mark. Excellent condition with minor wear.

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
