About this vintage design furniture
Organic stoneware bowl designed by Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand, Sweden. Handthrown in the 1950s. Yellowish, sand color mixed with light green. Signed with initials of ceramist. Second line of production. Very good condition with minor wear. One crack from production on the bottom.

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
