About this vintage design furniture

Designed in 1978 by Oscar Niemeyer and his daughter Anna Maria Niemeyer, this model is an 1990s edition. The Rio rocking chaise is exemplary of Niemeyer’s exquisite curves and sinuous forms made famous by his seminal modern architecture. This a vintage piece, handcrafted from black-lacquered wood, caning and leather, in excellent vintage condition.

Oscar Niemeyer was a Brazilian architect and designer, born on December 15, 1907 in Rio de Janeiro and died on December 5, 2012 in the same city. Considered one of the greatest architects of the 20th century, he designed over 600 projects worldwide.
