About this vintage design furniture

Rare hanging lamp. The glass shade is organically shaped, made of thick glass with spiral shaped strips melted into the glass. It hangs on a short aluminum rod. Illuminant: E27. Functioning. Good to very good condition. The glass has no chipping or damage. Functionally. Dimensions: height: 50.5 cm, overall: 78 cm, diameter: 22 cm

About the designer

Alois Ferdinand GANGKOFNER

Alois Ferdinand Gangkofner (1920-2003) was a German designer and master glassmaker. Born in Bavaria, Gangkofner studied at the Zwiesel glass school and then worked as an assistant in several glass studios in Germany. In 1949, he became artistic director of the glass company Peill & Putzler in Düren, where he created many modern and innovative glass pieces.
