Jean-Louis Domecq is the designer of the famous lamps line for Jieldé.
Biography He was born in France in 1920. In the second half of the 40s, Domecq realized the lack of lamps dedicated to mechanical activity. So he decided to draw a lamp adapted to his needs. After several tests, the final model is created in 1950. The next two years were devoted to the industrialization of production. In 1953, he founded the Jieldé Company, a name directly inspired from his initials. Nowadays, the Standard lamp is still produced and went beyond its industrial role. The lamp is now called Loft. The Signal and Augustin model are considered as references among the lights. The production is located in France, more precisely in Lyon. The Jieldé lamps are renowned to be simple, adaptable and robust.
