STUDIO BBPR

Studio BBPR was founded in Milan in 1932. Its members all studied architecture at the Milan Polytechnic, where they met. Together, they developed an innovative approach to design that made them one of the leading figures of the modern movement in Italy.

Their style is characterized by a harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality. They were renowned for their ability to integrate architectural solutions into the existing urban fabric, particularly in Milan. They designed and renovated numerous buildings, including housing, offices, churches and public spaces.

Their most famous work is undoubtedly the Torre Velasca building in Milan, completed in 1958. This 26-storey Brutalist skyscraper has become a symbol of the city and is considered a masterpiece of modern architecture. It combines elements of Italian architectural tradition with bold new ideas.

Over the years, Studio BBPR has also participated in international exhibitions and received numerous awards for its work. Sadly, the studio disbanded in the 1970s, but Studio BBPR's legacy lives on, and its influence on modern design and architecture continues to be recognized and celebrated.
