Vicke LINDSTRAND

Lindstrand began his career at Orrefors in 1928 as an apprentice glassblower. Over the next few years, he worked in various positions within the company, including as a pattern designer for engraved glass. In the 1930s, Lindstrand began experimenting with glassblowing techniques and designing more complex shapes.

During the 1940s and 1950s, Lindstrand was one of Orrefors' leading glass designers, producing modernist and experimental pieces for the company. He worked with a wide range of glass techniques, including mouth-blowing, pressing and molding. He is also known for his collaborations with other artists and designers, such as Swedish sculptor Edvin Öhrström.

In the 1960s, Lindstrand left Orrefors to work for Kosta Boda, another Swedish glass company. There, he continued to experiment with glass techniques and produce innovative pieces until his retirement in 1973.

Lindstrand is considered one of the most influential glass designers of the modern era in Sweden, and his work is widely collected and exhibited in art and design museums around the world.
